SkyCode Horoscopes for the week of September 12-18, 2016

Codes to unlock the stars, not to be locked down by them.

eye-of-storm

One scripture used to puzzle me when I was a young fundamentalist Christian minister. It’s when Jesus says, “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” Not to wade into deep theological waters here, but I don’t think this means Jesus wasn’t dedicated to peace. It suggests that sometimes the way to peace is through strife.

We definitely can see this as both the glorious Sun and alert Mercury have tense moments with testy Mars on Monday and Tuesday. But the Sun and Mercury become, literally, bosom buddies on Monday for Mercury’s new moon or inferior conjunction. I’ve talked about this aspect before here. But here’s a quick refresher.

Mercury retrogrades into the heart of the Sun and resets. He releases the build up of experiences and thoughts from the last season and prepares to take things to a new level. He’s been doing this in Earth signs all year. Earth draws our attention toward the material, sensual, and practical. With this Mercury new moon in Virgo, we’re drawn to consider details for how we approach something. Get into the grit and it will get into you.

That won’t bring peace, though. The full moon eclipse will make sure of that. Eclipses historically shake up stuff. They were once scary stuff. But they don’t have to be frightening. This eclipse at 24 Pisces-Virgo will be most powerful for folks who have points or planets at 17-29º of Pisces or Virgo. It’ll be hard to keep things static.

Even peacenik Venus supports this message when she counters shocking Uranus by opposition on Sunday. Yet, Mercury brings with him a dawning clarity as he steps slowly away from the bosom of the Sun. He transforms into a morning star that shines for peace amidst antagonism. It’s a peace forged by confronting unsavory details and sharp edges. Don’t shy away from that. Embrace it. Step into the eye of the storm.

Read on for the SkyCodes for your particular moon, ascendant, Sun or key planet of your chart.

VIRGO
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mercury in birth chart

Do more, analyze less. Analysis won’t detail any more than what you already know in your gut, in your bones. But perhaps you’re afraid. You might even feel more anxious if you have to confront someone. You’ve probably been gracious enough. Now is the time to correct and light up what’s been festering in the dark. A possibly tense conversation with a friend or even a foe doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to get the job done well enough. You can do that.

Affirmation:
I analyze to prepare me for action, not procrastinate it.

LIBRA
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Venus in birth chart

Getting some strong feelings off your chest might open up more of your mind and heart for other things. It might not all be emotional. For instance, you might come to see where you’ve been neglecting some aspect of your health that you need to change. Or you started a bad habit to avoid dealing with a situation. This happens in the body too. We sometimes allow previously hurt muscle groups to atrophy by getting other, more distant muscles to work harder. We have to re-learn to work the right muscles. That’s what you’re doing now.

Affirmation:
I correct what’s wrong in hidden places when I release negative habits and feelings.

SCORPIO
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mars in birth chart

Don’t hurt ‘em. Someone might tip one of your sacred cows and you’re not likely to take it too well. You don’t just get angry. You can get a biblical wrath. You want to conjure locusts, plagues, and firestorms. You might not be able to cause that kind of calamity. But you can still do damage. Be sure, though, that the “punishment” matches the crime. A threat to something or someone you hold dear is not the same as harm being done. Acknowledge the fear first. Otherwise, you might feel prompted to do more than necessary.

Affirmation:
I address injustice as it happens, not based on what I fear.

SAGITTARIUS
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Jupiter in birth chart

What many people fear most about success isn’t failure. It’s often the fear that the success won’t fill the real void they feel inside. They’re frequently not disappointed, unfortunately. But that shouldn’t discourage us from pursuing worldly goals. These fears surface more when we confuse worldly achievement with what’s necessary in the soul. Embrace more of the soul’s life. If you’re pursuing a better job, then be clearer on why you want the job. Think about how it makes you a better person, not just a bigger paycheck.

Affirmation:
I can have more of what the world offers without fear when I live for the adventure of the soul.

CAPRICORN
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Saturn in birth chart

It’s likely that the first person to say, “Don’t get mad. Plan,” was a Capricorn. You can use anger as raw fuel to think ahead. It doesn’t matter if you’re scheming to get ahead of your enemies or your bills. And don’t just plan in your head. Write and map things out. It doesn’t matter if everything’s not coherent yet. Coherence is a process. It doesn’t always come at once in a neat package. One more thing: do this for you, not for vengeance. Revenge is a drawn out confession that your enemy still controls you.

Affirmation:
I use my anger to plan, not go mad.

AQUARIUS
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Saturn in birth chart

To paraphrase Rudyard Kipling, you’re more the full person you can be when “you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.” It’s not easy to endure that. But you’re happiest when you can look at yourself in the mirror and love the principles and pimples you own. They’re yours—good, bad, or indifferent. Let people love their lies. Lies are the ultimate Venus flytrap. What seems so innocent, easy, or beautiful will usually turn deadly. Let not your heart be troubled. Love is not as successfully mocked as it seems.

Affirmation:
I trust in the truth of my life, not the lies fools love.

PISCES
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Jupiter in birth chart

A friend once said, “That it’s more important for people to be right than it is to be loved or to love.” Think about that when you have a desperate need to be right. Or when you face someone who wants to be right. It doesn’t really matter if you’re right or if the other person is. Feel what “being right” is doing to your heart. If it’s making it beat fast or feel tighter, then what would be the better way to love yourself or to love that person? You don’t have to make someone kneel or sit when you take a stand.

Affirmation:
I can be right…and loving at the same time.

ARIES
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mars in birth chart

What we call “wild” is often only the stuff we don’t or won’t try to understand. We don’t want to get close to any wild messes. You know, like an unruly stack of papers in your “In” box that are about fall off your desk onto the floor. Explore what’s in there first. Feel your way through the mess. Act like a crazy 19th century explorer, totally open and fearless. You don’t need to come up with any high-pressured schedules to “conquer” the wilderness. Rushing won’t make you any bolder or clear-minded.

Affirmation:
I set out to know and understand what’s wild in my life before I “conquer” it.

TAURUS
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Venus in birth chart

“Act in haste, repent at leisure” goes the saying. Although you’re not often inclined to act in haste, you might be tempted to do just that with pressure from a friend or a group. It’s not that what they’re telling you is wrong. But you might not be certain about the way you’re approaching a situation or even why you’re doing it. In other words, you have a big decision to make. But it’s likely you’re not looking at the right set of choices. Look closer and deeper.

Affirmation:
I do what I want when it’s right for me and doesn’t harm others.

GEMINI
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mercury in birth chart

You might catch people staring at you. They’re not necessarily staring at what you’re wearing. It won’t even have to be something you said. There’s perhaps just something wild and electrical about you. Of course, you could use that energy to ramp up a romance. Or you could take it ALL out on the gym machines. But you also have to be careful. This energy has to get out of you, somehow. Like anything wild, you could find yourself doing something strange, interesting, or even risky if provoked. Don’t wait for that.

Affirmation:
I reclaim more of my wild energy and use it constructively.

CANCER
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Moon in birth chart

Change up your playlist. Take one of your fave bottled scents with you for your commute. Use whatever you can that lightens the heavy tedium of getting around and dealing with people’s pettiness. It could get to you more than usual. Simplify as often as you can. You’re not up for dealing with anything with too many moving parts. You’re not being lazy, though. You just need equal parts inspiration to keep you humming along. Otherwise, you’d rather stay home. But even there chores would also become a bore.

Affirmation:
I add my own favorite things when life gets too dull.

LEO
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Sun in birth chart

You will likely have to nitpick with someone about your belongings or your money. Don’t be magnanimous to avoid any conflict, though. Shrugging it off will leave you unnecessarily shorthanded. Yes, it’s tedious. And there are ways to be detailed without pettiness. But stay with it. Use your charm. Earnestly emphasize another person’s specialness, much like how you would like it done to you. Be encouraging. It might cost you some time. Yet, do what you have to do to get yours. You’ve earned it.

Affirmation:
I struggle for what’s rightfully mine with grace and respect.
