“Shooting for the moon!”

horoscopes, weekly, Gemini, full moon, Sagittarius, Super moon

This is the final full moon of 2016. Full moons represent times of manifestation or harvest. It’s when what’s been conceived or done in the dark becomes known. It’s a time to speak on and connect to what’s true.

This full moon nearly falls exactly on the birth-given full moon of our incoming US President. He’s a Gemini with a Sagittarius moon. That’s the opposite setup of Tuesday’s full moon. That means this super full moon is likely to prove revealing for him too. I don’t think this will affect whether he becomes President or not, though. His rise to the presidency has never been based on what’s absolutely true. I have no reason to believe that any new falsehoods will derail his presidential train either.

Of course, that might not be the news you want to hear. But that’s nearly been true all year, for many of us, right? I plan to write soon why 2016 has astrologically been such a difficult year. But this full moon has prompted me to realize or remember key lessons from this year. Here’s my short, bittersweet seven list:

  1. Your prediction about the future is only as good as what you’re paying attention to in the present.
  2. Politics, whether played at the playground or the national stage, is very often NOT about ideals. That might be the motivation. But often not the practice.
  3. Friends are the people who will more often do right by you at the right time, not only say the right things to you.
  4. Having courtesy & respect with someone in business doesn’t make you friends. Warm feelings can go as cold as hard cash in a flash.
  5. It feels better to wake up to a world you want to fight for than one you’re determined to fight against.
  6. It’s all real. But we humans have made up nearly all of whatever we call real. And that’s okay too.
  7. We all can and, at some point, will die. But what matters most is how we live enough to stay alive in others after our death. Thank you, Prince Rogers Nelson.

What are your bittersweet seven lessons learned or remembered for 2016?

Read on for the SkyCodes for your particular moon, ascendant, Sun or key planet of your chart.

SAGITTARIUS
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Jupiter in birth chart

Yes, get “it” out in the open. It’s okay if you’re not even completely clear on what “it” is or how you feel about it. Perhaps “it” is a mounting set of tense feelings that have been building all year. Or it is a dawning realization that will lead to more self-improvement. Don’t let the fear of vulnerability hold you back. If you’re feeling vulnerable, then you know there won’t be any BS, at least on your end. You won’t be able to control what others’ feel or do, of course.

Affirmation:
I am committed to getting the truth of what I feel out in the open.

CAPRICORN
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Saturn in birth chart

Your mind goes broad and wide, but your feet might end up taking tiny steps in multiple directions. As if you don’t know what to do with yourself. That’s when you’ll have to draw on your recent experience with stillness to think long-term. As you fast approach your birthday season, think about what you’ve learned about yourself, your work, and your relationships from this year. What do you need to improve? What’s working awesomely? This will help you think about the marathon you have ahead rather than sprinting all over the place.

Affirmation:
I contemplate my growth and where I need to grow rather than only be on the go.

AQUARIUS
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Saturn in birth chart

Look ahead, not over your shoulder for what and who is behind you. (There’ll be plenty time for that when Mercury begins his retrograde next week.) Now, it’s time to entertain more possibilities. To engage your creativity and vision for where you’d like to take your life in 2017. This will make it easier to battle the nay-saying phantoms of the past. You will have to curb some ideas and cull more out of others. It might not seem all rosy, at first. You likely have some painful truths to face since that’s what full moons do, in general. But it’s better to build a future on the truth anyway, right?!

Affirmation:
I envision more of a future that’s as authentic as I am.

PISCES
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Jupiter in birth chart

The fullness of the moon might appear to be a laser beam that pierces through you from head to toe. It probably stirs a lot within that you’re not ready to share with the world yet. But be sure to let some part of yourself surface and even rise higher. The opposite could be true too. You could be so focused on what’s happening in the world that you neglect a project under wraps. Let the vibrant tension of what you’re creating in secret fuel your excitement for what the world can see.

Affirmation:
I use the lively tension between what’s happening out of doors with what’s happening behind doors to fuel excitement & creativity.

ARIES
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mars in birth chart

You’re likely to face a big temptation at the top of the week to shoot from the hip with someone. You’re better off not doing it. It’s not that you’re wholly wrong. But you’d have a clearer sense on what needs to happen with this situation later in the week. It might be that you need to shoot from both hips and really let someone have it! As you stay alert, you can keep your mind and hands busy with running errands or catching up with some reading. Being patient doesn’t mean you have to be idle.

Affirmation:
I patiently see more nuances of a tense situation before I launch into action.

TAURUS
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Venus in birth chart

Accountancy with money is not the same as financial planning. It’s time to think creatively about your money, no matter what your bank balance says. You don’t have to wait until the last day of the year to set goals. Or to start acting on them. Use this full moon to shoot for even more financial security with enough risk to suit your own palate. Don’t think you can avoid risk completely. That’s the planning part. So, consolidate your gains, reduce your losses, and set your eyes on victory! There’s certainly a great recipe of success for you if you work at it.

Affirmation:
I consolidate what I have to hazard a sensible risk of financial gain.

GEMINI
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mercury in birth chart

Yes, you can indeed feel great even when things don’t look great for you to others. That’s because you’re being reminded that enthusiasm and faith are half the battle in life. It’s not always a matter of empirical facts. Facts are what we use until we have enough faith. Sometimes facts are wrong. And facts are not the things that give our lives enough meaning. (Just think about all the useless facts you amassed in school.) Seeing isn’t always believing. Believing is often the path to seeing.

Affirmation:
I trust I can feel better before others (or myself) see I’m in a better situation.

CANCER
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Moon in birth chart

The art of ritual is what can make any routine special. A ritual taps into a higher sense of meaning or purpose. A routine maintains an everyday purpose. Infuse your routine with a little more ritual. Perhaps it involves a new meditation while working out or filing papers. But it also might mean that you charm an inspiration out of a task that you do more by rote than with feeling. That’s when it’s good to envision emotionally charged results while doing something ordinary. Don’t just brush your teeth. Instead, polish the smile that will make someone’s day.

Affirmation:
I infuse uplifting energy and magic into ordinary tasks.

LEO
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Sun in birth chart

You’re regaining the sway of your swag back. But this isn’t a total solo venture. Hook into your crew. Go out with them and paint the town some sorely needed decadent color. And then hook those folks up. Let the roadies who’ve kept you on your road to glory know how great they are. Creating this kind intimacy and bond will also do something for and to you. The heaviness you’ve felt lately is to remind you that you thrive best when you’re gracious with your shine.

Affirmation:
I step back into my shine by generously sharing laughter & good times with folks dear to me.

VIRGO
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mercury in birth chart

It’s okay if you feel a little raw and vulnerable. Exposure is the phrase that investment folks use to describe a person’s relationship to risk. So, you might feel unduly exposed. But that’s what can make this week so juicy for you. Yeah, juicy can equal messy. Don’t reach to tidy up your emotions, house, desk, or much else too fast. Feel and release the tension. Cry when you want. Laugh Out Loud, for real. Dare to write down your big goals for 2017. See what really makes you feel shaky. Even scared. That loops us back to exposure. Feel the shakiness first. You can reflect and detail what you envision over the next several weeks.

Affirmation:
I can be a mess to create and hone my mission toward greater success.

LIBRA
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Venus in birth chart

Your ability to access and practice wisdom from your higher self for your own life might require performing a trick. When you’re stuck on which particular direction to take, pretend you’re #AskingForAFriend. You’ll most likely be satisfied with the answer. You’ll only have to do that, though, when your fear of getting it all wrong is greater than any trust you have in yourself. On other hand, you might have to curb yourself from being too pushy and smug when actual friends have confusing decisions to make.

Affirmation:
I flow with graciousness and wisdom for others and myself.

SCORPIO
Moon, ascendant, Sun or strong Mars in birth chart

Before you fixate on something (or someone) you desire, burn with as much passion in appreciation for what you have. That’s not to make you out to be an ingrate. It’s to remind you about how desire continues to trick us. We sometimes are quick to think about what’s outside of us rather than what’s close or within. The world is as much “in here” as it is “out there.” And perhaps that’s the most nebulous and hardest thing to swallow. It’s okay if you swallow only some of that. But the practice of appreciating one thing before you set your eyes on attaining another may help you achieve more of the self-control and mastery you seek in everything.

Affirmation:
I can attain more and keep appreciation for what I have.
